I was born in West Union, Iowa, and lived on a farm until age 11. My family moved to Chandler, Arizona, and I lived there until age 28. I met my wonderful wife Kathryn in Arizona and we both moved to Iowa for medical school in Des Moines. We both finished residency at UIHC and have worked for the same hospitals since graduating. Emergency medicine has been a passion since I worked there as a nurse and I am grateful to practice medicine for ECIAC as a physician.
