I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and went to undergraduate school in Colorado for musical theatre before I went to PA school at the University of Iowa. Shortly after graduating, I joined the team at St. Luke’s Hospital in 2011, while continuing to be the lead advance practice provider at UI Quick Care until I transitioned part time at the University emergency department. I am now a clinical assistant, professor at the University of Iowa PA program Carver College of medicine, serving the Iowa city community in their emergency department, as well as serving the Cedar Rapids independence communities with East Central Iowa Acute Care.
I am always driving to you learn new ways of providing quality, emergency care to you our communities beyond direct care in the emergency department and plan to continue this for the foreseeable future.
I live in Iowa city with my husband and our two children. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader and we are traveling the Midwest six months out of the year for competitions. My husband owns a nationally known bakery, Tip Top Cakes, serving our community with his unique artistic abilities. When possible or family travels the world trying to learn as much about other cultures as we can.
You may find me a a few local gyms in Iowa city, teaching Bodyflow, which is a combined yoga, taichi, Pilates fitness class. Occasionally, you may even see my husband and I on stage and one of the community theaters.
