I was raised in Cedar Rapids. I attended Washington High School which is also where I sent my own kids. I spent 5 years in the US Army initially as a Russian Linguist and then went through the 18D Special Forces Medics Course. During my training I met my wife Heather and we had our first son Jack. This led me to seek a bit more stable career path and I got out of the Army and went to College and Medical School. Always wanting to be near family, we moved back to Cedar Rapids from Detroit and I joined ECIAC. I have been medical director since 2008. I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, tennis, pickle ball, playing guitar. I’ve been married for 30 years to my wife Heather and we have two great kids, Jack and Eliza.
